2007 Jaguar XK-Series XK Summary
The 2007 Jaguar XK series gets a full redesign; the first since the car was introduced in 1997. The XK coupe is the entry-level offering for this model lineup, which includes three other variations. The XK can also be had as a convertible. The 2007 updates are highlighted by more gadgets, extra interior room, and a new all-aluminum construction.
The rear wheel drive XK coupe is equipped with a 4.2 liter V-8, which produces 300 horsepower and 310 pound feet of torque. The engine is paired with a six speed automatic transmission. The new construction drops the curb weight well below 4000 pounds, and acceleration is much improved. Both the coupe and convertible will zip from 0 to 60 in about six seconds.
Jaguar includes all the finishing touches that set it apart from German and Japanese luxury competitors. Rich burl walnut veneers, chrome trim and soft English leather are abundant inside. The XK standard features list is as long as you'd expect: DVD-based navigation, premium Alpine sound system, power/heated seats, keyless start and Bluetooth.
New seats provide plenty of room and comfort in the front, but the rear quarters are better suited for small children.
