The Jaguar S-Type sedan enters its eighth and final year of production in 2007. All sedan receive some minor interior refinishing, which includes the addition of seat piping and new walnut trimming.
The R-Style is a higher performance trim available on several Jaguar models. Opting for the R-Style adds about $15000 to the S-Type's base price. The R-Style uses the same 4.2 liter V-8 as the lower model, but here it is enhanced by a top-mounted supercharger. Horsepower rises from 300 to 400, and torque is bumped from 310 to 413 pound-feet. The same six speed automatic transmission delivers the power to the rear wheels. The 0 to 60 time for this top tier model is 5.3 seconds.
