2007 Honda Fit Base Summary
The 2007 Honda Fit Base keeps the pricetag down, but still offers a decent amount of standard features and 5-star safety equipment. This front-wheel-drive compact wagon seats four in two rows, though rear passengers get only 33.7 inches of legroom. The wagon rides on a Macpherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension. It's powered by a 16-valve, 1.5-liter single overhead cam inline-four engine connected to a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission that delivers 109 hp and 105 ft-lbs of torque at 4,800 RPM. What stands out is its 33/38 mpg rating.
14-inch steel wheels with all-season tires keep the 2007 Fit Base on the road. Alloy wheels are optional. The front disc/rear drum and ABS brakes come with electronic brakeforce distribution, and there are dual front and side curtain airbags for both rows. The wagon gets five stars in most crash tests, but only three in side rear impact tests. Also standard are front passenger airbag deactivation and a front stabilizer bar.
Power windows, locks, and mirrors are included in the Base package, along with a CD player. Intermittent front wipers and a rear window wiper, tilt steering, a tachometer, and air conditioning are also standard. The cargo area holds more than 21 cubic feet and features tiedowns. A cargo net and cover cost extra.
