Toyota has worked tirelessly to research the needs and desires a of a variety of truck and SUV buyers.  As a result, the Japanese automaker offers many configurations of most SUV/truck models.  The Highlander is no different, with eight models to choose from in 2007.  For this year, the headlights have been redesigned and more standard safety features are included.  ABS, stability control, side and side-curtain airbags, and tire pressure monitor are all included.
The Highlander is offered in three trims: base, Sport, and Limited.  The base model still receives plenty of convenience items like air conditioning, keyless entry, and power windows and locks.  Available options include a tow package, JBL audio upgrade, rear seat DVD entertainment, and leather seats.  All Highlanders can also be fitted with a third row of seats.  These seats are best for smaller passengers.
This Highlander houses a 2.4 liter four cylinder DOHC engine, mated to a four speed electronically controlled automatic transmission, and powering an AWD drive train.  The small VVT-enhanced engine provides 155 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, which is enough power to pull about 3000 pounds.  The four cylinder option produces a more fuel efficient Highlander, with an EPA rating of 20/25 mpg (with AWD).  All models earn the Super Ultra Low Emissions (SULEV) rating.
