This sleek sedan just debuted at the Chicago Auto Show and is set for production sometime later in 2007. For now, the 2008 Pontiac G8 Base Sedan looks set to carry a 3.6-liter, 261-hp, DOHC V6 engine with a 5-speed automatic with manual shift mode. A 6-speed manual may be available later. The 2008 G8 Base will rest on 18-inch wheels, though 19-inch performance tires will be optional.
The sporty rear-wheel-drive sedan will be well equipped with ABS brakes, traction and stability control, foglights, dual front and side impact airbags, and an adjustable suspension. A rear spoiler and dual exhaust tips adorn the exterior. Inside will be a full array of power features, including power front seats, OnStar, satellite radio, supportive seats, and red-lit instrument gauges. Heated leather seats will be an option. A Sport Package adds 19-inch wheels and leather trim.
