2007 Toyota Yaris 4 Dr Base Summary
The front-wheel drive sub-compact 2007 Toyota Yaris Base sedan keeps equipment to a minimum, but fuel efficiency to a maximum. The 16-valve, 1.5-liter DOHC I4 engine gets 34/40 mpg. Paired with a choice of 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic, it puts out 106-hp and 103 ft-lbs of torque at 4200 RPM.
The tiny 2007 Yaris Base rides on 14-inch steel wheels with all-season tires. It gets only four stars in frontal impact tests and three in side impact. It comes equipped with front disc and rear drum brakes, but 4-wheel ABS is optional. Dual front airbags are standard, but you'll pay extra for side impact and side curtain bags. Seatbelt pretensioners and child seat anchors are included. Other optional safety features include larger 15-inch wheels and foglights.
The basics are free -- the 2007 Yaris Base features air conditioning, tilt and power steering, intermittent wipers, a tachometer, and cupholders. The Yaris Base doesn't even come with a radio, but you can add that, along with a CD/MP3 player. Other options add power windows, locks, and mirrors, remote entry, cruise control, a cargo net, and a rear wiper. An optional rear spoiler and alloy wheels dress up the exterior. The sedan seats four, with a surprising 35 inches of rear legroom and a 12.9 cubic foot trunk. A split-folding rear bench is optional.
