2007 Toyota 4Runner V-8 4x4 Sport Edition Summary
The 2007 Toyota 4Runner is unchanged from the previous model year. In 2006, Toyota added new front and rear bumpers, and a redesigned grille and headlamps. There are three other Sport Edition 4Runner variations, but this model is the high end. Here, Toyota adds four wheel drive and a larger engine.
This Sport Edition is powered by a 4.7 V-8, which generates 266 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, and aided by Variable Valve Timing. VVT-i is an intake camshaft management system designed to improve power, lower emissions and raise fuel economy. While all 4Runners earn a LEV emissions rating, this model is the least fuel efficient, with an EPA of 16/19 mpg. On the V-8 model, towing capacity increases from 5000 to 7300 pounds.
This trim adds special features like X-REAS cross-linked suspension for better stability, special fabric, power seats, and 17 inch wheels. All 4Runners are well-equipped, including automatic climate control, power windows and locks, keyless entry, and a CD audio system. Standard safety features are highlighted by Toyota's Star Safety System, which includes Vehicle Stability Control + Traction Control, ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, and Brake Assist.
