Toyota offers the 2007 4Runner in three trims.  The mid-level finish is called the Sport Edition, which includes several performance-oriented features. Most notable is the unique X-REAS cross-linked suspension system, which gives the midsize SUV much better handling.  The Sport Edition 4Runners can also be boosted by the addition of a larger engine.
Toyota drops a 4.7 liter V-8, and pairs it  with a five-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.  The V-8 is supported by Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology, which enhances engine output.  The Sport Edition-finished 4Runner has 266 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque, and offers the best on-road performance of all models.  V-8 towing capacity jumps to 7300 pounds.
Along with trim-specific features like special fabric, X-REAS, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, this model also comes a equipped with all power features including seats, keyless entry, automatic climate control, and a CD audio system.  Options include a DVD-based navigation system, Bluetooth, rear seat DVD entertainment, and a ten speaker JBL sound system with a CD changer.
