Toyota's long line of Tacoma midsize pickups remains unchanged for this year, follow substantial revisions in 2005. The dash receives a slight facelift and more comfortable front seats are added. The Regular Cab tacoma models are the base level offering, with 2WD, a small four cylinder engine, and few interior amenities.
The 2.7 liter DOHC inline four provides the 3220 pound truck with 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a five speed manual transmission, and this combination (along with the smaller cab and 2WD) produces the most fuel efficient Tacoma, with an EPA rating of 23/28 mpg.
This model is also available as a 4x4, and that upgrade allows for a few more options. As a 4x2, the only available option is the Enhancement Package, which adds air conditioning. A CD player is standard.
