2007 Toyota Tacoma V-6 Double Cab 4WD SB Manual Summary
After a thorough redesign and expansion in 2005, the Toyota Tacoma entered a new class of mid-size pickups. Due to the increased length and availability of larger cabs, the truck could no longer be classified as compact. The Tacoma remains almost entirely unchanged for 2007, but front seat comfort has been improved.
The Double Cab model is the largest of the Tacomas, with four full doors and three full rear seats. At nearly 4000 pounds, this truck receives adequate power from a 4.0 liter V-6. This engine provides 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, thanks to a boost from Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology. On this model, the engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The third generation Tacoma models (which began in 2005) are built on a larger chassis, utilizing the rugged body on frame construction. Almost all of Toyota's safety features are standard, including Toyota's Advanced Airbag System, ABS, and child restraints. Side impact airbags are the only safety item left as optional.
