2007 Mercury Mountaineer AWD Premier 4.0L Summary

The Premier V6 AWD is by all means a very well-equipped mid-sized SUV. The extra versatility and ability afforded by the automatic all-wheel-drive system increases both your safety and your peace of mind.
And with the Premier trim comes a longer list of standard goodies. There's an upgraded stereo, a universal garage-door opener, 18-inch chrome wheels, and auxiliary climate controls for the second row, plus the Reverse Sensing System, which will help you back up and park this pretty big rig. You'll also get the power heated side mirrors and satin-aluminum exhaust tip, which werent available on the base trim.
As on the other Mountaineer trims, the Safety Canopy - side-curtain airbags for the first and second rows - comes standard. Also standard are dual-zone auto climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a vehicle message center, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with auxiliary controls for cruise, climate, and audio.
Options that the Luxury trim was not eligible for but are available on the Premier include power-deployable running boards, the Navigation and Moonroof Package, and Preferred Suede inserts for the leather seating.
If you're considering a Mountaineer purchase, you'll be happy to know how well the vehicle scored in government crash-testing. It earned 5 stars in all segments of NHTSA testing except for the Rollover Test, where it scored only 3 stars. In the IIHS Frontal Offset Crash Test, the vehicle received highest-level rankings across the board.
