The 2007 Kia Optima EX is a more upscale version of the LX trims, with better standard features and a longer list of options. It is powered by the 2.4-liter, 162-hp I4 engine, like the base LX, but comes only with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Leather trim, an 8-way power driver's seat, and automatic climate control are standard. It also adds a trip computer, one-touch power windows, and vanity lights for both driver and passenger.
In addition to the LX's front console, the EX has an overhead console. Like the LX, it features audio controls on the steering wheel and cruise control. Options only available with the EX include a sunroof, heated leather seats, and a power passenger's seat. ABS, traction, and stability control are also optional, not standard. A sluggish engine, a stiff ride, and uncomfortable seats are the biggest complaints. Most owners love how well it's equipped and the overall style.
