The 2005 RSX Type S had its 2.0-liter I4 engine tuned to offer 210 horsepower. Much to the disappointment of those hoping for better racing abilities, torque remained at 143 lb-ft for the Type S.
Gas mileage is estimated at 23/31 for the 6-speed manual on the Type S. No automatic is offered for the sportier trim of the 2005 RSX.
The biggest complaint about the 2005 RSX Type S was the road noise, although drivers noted that it could be covered by blasting the stereo. Cornering in particular was cited as being outstanding.
