2006 Mercury Montego Luxury AWD Summary
A limited slip center differential and CVT transmission come standard with the 2006 Mercury Montego Luxury AWD, a mid-size sedan featuring all-wheel drive. A 3.0-liter, 203-hp V6 sits under the hood. In all other aspects it is like the front-wheel drive version, but adds standard traction control to the 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, 17-inch alloy wheels and all-season tires, automatic headlights, foglights, xenon headlights, and auto-dimming rearview mirror. Dual front airbags are standard, and side impact and front and rear head airbags are optional. Parking sensors are also available.
Rear seats and the front passenger seat fold flat to expand the already spacious 21.2 cubic foot trunk. Besides the 41.9 inches of rear legroom, other Luxury offerings include new wheel-mounted audio controls for the CD player and new leather and aluminum accents on the wheel. Also featured are full power accessories, a 6-way driver's seat, cruise control, intermittent wipers, trip computer, compass and tachometer, security system, heated mirrors, and tie-downs and a grocery hook in the trunk. There is a front power outlet and remote control as well. Wood interior trim dresses up the interior. Options include a DVD player, power passenger seat, power adjustable pedals, a sunroof, CD changer/MP3 player, and leather upholstery. Drivers love the smooth handling and roomy interior, but feel the 2006 Montego Luxury AWD needs a stronger engine.
