2006 Jaguar XJ-Series XJ8 L

The on XJ8 L, the wheelbase grows from the standard 119.4 inches to 124.4 inches. That extra length translates primarily into increased legroom in the rear quarters. The 4.2 liter V-8 engine has been tweaked for a bit more horsepower, and Jaguar has also improved the braking system.  Satellite radio and Bluetooth become options for 2006.

The long wheelbase XJ8 sees a jump in price of about $2000, but standard equipment is unchanged. This model comes with leather seating, walnut trim, rear park control, a premium CD audio system, a moon roof, 18-inch wheels, Jaguar's "CATS" adaptive suspension, and xenon headlights.

Jaguar's 4.2 liter DOHC V-8 is unaltered here, but now has an output of 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The aluminum block engine is paired with a six speed automatic transmission on all XJ models.  Fuel economy is considerably high for a V-8, estimated at 18/27 mpg.
