This entry-level XJ is certainly not cheap, but it can be had for almost $50,000 less than the top shelf Super-V-8 Portfolio. The V-8 engine now produces a bit more power, and the braking system has also been improved for 2006.
This sedan is powered by an unaltered version of the 4.2 liter DOHC V-8 engine, paired with a six speed automatic transmission. The V-8 now produces 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The XJ8 speeds from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds, and fuel economy is estimated at 18/27 mpg.
Standard features include Jaguar's "CATS" (Computer Active Technology Suspension), leather seating, burl walnut trim, a moon roof, power-adjustable pedals, rear parking sensors, and full power accessories. Bluetooth and satellite radio are now optional, as is a navigation system on this model.
While the Jaguar sedan has a beautiful and well-appointed interior, many owners have expressed frustration with the user-unfriendliness of some of the controls.
