This Tundra Double Cab may offer an ideal combination of attributes for on-road driving needs: power, cargo space, interior room, and convenience features.  The Double Cab design adds a relatively spacious and easily accessible back seat.  The SR5 trim includes a longer list of standard power and convenience features, and an extension in overall length stretches the bed to eight feet.
That leaves power.  Toyota will drop a new 5.7 liter V-8 into many variations of their full size pickup.  This all aluminum engine produces 381 horsepower and 401 pound-ffeet of torque.  Along with the larger engine size, this 100+ horse increase is also attributed to the Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology system.  VVT-i will also lower emissions and increase fuel efficiency to around 20 mpg for highway driving.  The 4x2 Tundra models equipped with this V-8 will be able to tow 10,600 pounds, according to Toyota.
Overall ride quality is also expected to improve.  A new six speed automatic transmission is included with the 5.7 liter V-8.  A six inch width increase will also add handling stability and eliminate some body roll.
