With over thirty variations of the 2007 Tundra, Toyota aims to offer a truck for everyone. Each model is also available as a 4x2. The Double Cab body features two full size front doors and 2 smaller rear doors with opposing hinges, allowing for an easier entrance and exit for back seat passengers. The SR5 trim creates a longer list of features along with a higher price than the base trim. Although 4WD is absent here, this Tundra is equipped with standard safety features like ABS, the VSC traction control system, and side curtain airbags.
This model also houses Toyota's new 5.7 liter all aluminum V-8. This engine will provide the 5100 pound truck with 381 horsepower and 401 pound feet of torque. It will be the strongest of the Tundras, with a 10,600 pound towing capacity. The engine is supported by Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology, a TRD creation. VVT explains the the substantial horsepower increase over the smaller V-8, but it also improves fuel economy and lowers emissions. This Tundra will earn an ultra low emissions rating.
