The Crew Max model of Tundra pickups were also available with rear wheel drive. These 4x2s could be fitted with all the trims, options, and features of the 4x4s, minus the sport appearance and TRD off-road packages.
Crew Max Tundras were only available with the 4.7 or new 5.7 liter V-8s. Selecting the 5.7 liter all aluminum engine would give this truck 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. Toyota adds the Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology found in many current Lexus models. The VVT-i system lowers emissions, earning the truck an ULEV II rating. Fuel economy will also rise to around 20 mpg on the highway.
The addition of the SR5 trim equips this pickup with interior power features and exterior chrome finishings for the bumpers and around the grille. The four door Crew Max is largest Tundra yet, stretching to 230 inches in length and 80 inches in width.
