2007 Toyota Tundra 4X2 Regular Cab 6-Speed

The Regular Cab 4x2 Tundra will be model of the lightest and fastest models made in 2007.  On the surface, there is nothing fancy here: no special trims,  TRD off road package, extended bed,  spacious cabs, or 4WD.  This appears to be just a full-size three seat truck.
The true marvel is concealed under the hood.  For 2007, Toyota will introduce a new power plant that could dissolve all complaints about an underpowered Tundra.  The 5.7 liter all aluminum V-8 will produces 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque.  The engine is both boosted and refined by Toyota TRD's Dual Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology.  The system has been used for years in several Lexus models to increase horsepower, improve fuel efficiency, and lower emissions. This 4800 pound truck will race from 0 to 60 mph in about six, while achieving 20 mpg efficiency for highway driving.  A six speed automatic transmission comes standard with this engine.
This Tundra does not offer many of the amenities found in its Double Cab and Crew Max counterparts, but it can fitted with an optional towing package which raises the capacity to 10,400 pounds.  That's more than twice the load of this same truck when powered by the base V-6.
