2007 Toyota Tundra 4X2 Regular Cab 5-Speed Summary
This version of Toyota's full size pickup takes one step beyond the base model, due to the addition of a larger engine. While this Tundra does not offer any upscale trim packages, new engines and transmissions, or the longer bed, it will include all of the new design and styling cues that set the second generation apart. The new Tundra expands in all dimensions, and while this model be only stretch to 210 inches in length, it will grow 6 inches in width and height. The wider track creates a more muscular look, and will also improve handling and eliminate excess body roll.
This is one of the lightest Tundras available for 2007, at just over 4700 pounds. The shorter bed limits the payload to 1825 pounds, but the addition of an optional towing package will bring the towing capacity to over 8000 pounds. All three engine options are offered on the 4x2 Regular Cab, but this version will use the mid-sized 4.7 liter V-8. This engine generates 271 horsepower and 313 pound feet of torque. A five speed automatic transmission is added to the 4x2 drive train, and the six speed may become available as an option. Fuel economy will be 15/18 mpg, according to Toyota.
