This Regular Cab Tundra is the smallest and fastest model. While a long bed version is available, the 6.5 foot bed here will reduce the overall length of the truck but almost 20 inches. Only the substitution of 4x4 with 4x2 could lighten the the load further. In a year where larger Tundras will reach 5600 pounds, this short bed body will weigh just over 5000 pounds.
It's what is under the hood that really makes the difference here. For Tundra's second generation, Toyota has unveiled a new 5.7 liter all aluminum V-8. This engine will be accompanied by Toyota Racing Development's Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology, which boosts horsepower, increases fuel economy, and lowers emissions. The product will be a full size pick up that races from 0-60 mph in around 6.5 seconds, and completes the quarter mile in just over fourteen. Yet, it will average around 20 mpg in mixed driving and earn an ultra low emissions rating. A towing capacity of 10,300 pounds is also worth mentioning.
