This version is a couple of steps above what would be considered the Tundra base model.  A larger engine has replaced the V-6 and four wheel drive has been added.  This truck is not available with option packages like TRD, Sport Appearance, or Towing.  The Limited trim can not be applied to this model, but SR5 is available.  A cold weather package can also be added.
This Tundra will feature a 6.5 foot bed, but a full eight footer is available.  The combination of the shorter bed and small cabin will cut the overall length and curb weight of this specific model, but the second generation Tundras are bigger than ever.  All models have grown half a foot in width, which will allow for better stabilization through the turns.
The truck uses an engine that has been carried over from the previous model year: a 4.7 liter V-8.  This V-8 produces 271 horsepower and 313 pound feet of torque.  A five speed automatic transmission is the only available drivetrain, and a 4x2 version is also offered.  Towing capacity is estimated around 7500 pounds, and fuel economy is expected to be the mid to high teens.
