Toyota's Limited trim can also be applied to the Double Cab Tundra. All Limited Tundra models are at the higher end of the price spectrum, due to the addition of additional features and luxury options. Options on other models like 18-inch alloy wheels, auto-dimming mirrors, deck rails, anti-theft system, and power seats all become standard here.
Add in Toyota's new engine and transmission and it is fair to say that this particular configuration is very desirable. Many test drives have used this model because of its expected popularity. This new engine is a 5.7 liter V-8. This all aluminum power plant will generate 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. Towing capacity will be over 10,000 pounds. The VVT-i system, brought to prominence by Lexus, is responsible for such a significant horsepower increase. The system also lowers emissions, and improves fuel efficiency. The VVT-i equipped Tundra will earn an ultra low emissions rating and almost reach 20 mpg. A six speed automatic transmission is also new.
The Tundra's exterior appearance has also changed, growing substantially in every dimension. The wider stance will not only provide a more aggressive appearance, but is also expected to improve handling and limit body roll.
