2007 Toyota Tundra 4X4 Limited Crew Max 6-Speed Summary
The term Crew Max replaces the previous Crew Cab. Both labels signify a body with four full doors. The upscale Limited trim can also be applied to the Crew Max cab configuration. This trim adds several luxury features and finishes. Options include a DVD-based navigation system, JBL audio, Bluetooth, towing package, TRD package, auto-dimming mirrors, and 20 inch wheels.
This Tundra houses the new 5.7 liter V-8, an all aluminum engine which makes 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a new six-speed automatic transmission, and also uses TRD's Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology. VVT-i is responsible for the disproportionate horsepower boost over the 4.7 liter V-8, but also for lower emissions and improved fuel economy. This Tundra is expected to get 20 mpg on the highway.
Toyota will also offer a special towing package with special hitches, prewire setup, and extending mirrors. This option complements the 5.7 liter Tundra's 10,300 pound towing capacity. The Crew Max model has the shortest bed of any Tundra, but there has been some discussion of the possibility of a long bed version. Also on the table is a supercharged version of the 5.7 liter V-8 which would bump horsepower up to 450.
