As the second generation Tundra emerges in 2007, buyers will be presented with over 30 variations of the full size pickup.  With such a myriad of combinations, is there now a Tundra for everyone?  The truck loyalists and traditionalists should be very pleased with this version.  The Regular Cab's bench seat layout offers seating for three, which lowers the gross weight by several hundred pounds.  Drop in a very powerful new engine and you have a full size truck that races from 0 to 60 mph faster than many Toyota sedans.
The new engine is a 5.7 liter all aluminum V-8.  Growing a liter beyond its 8-cylinder counterpart, it makes 381 horsepower and provides 401 pound-feet of torque.  It's enough pulling power to tow 10,000 pounds.  Unhitch your load, and then race from 0 to 60 in about six seconds.  Turn the quarter mile in 14.  This new engine is paired with Tundra's first six-speed automatic transmission, and aided further by TRD's Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology.  VVT not only increases horsepower, but it also lowers emissions and improves fuel efficiency.
This Tundra is also available with a full eight foot bed.  The shorthand LB is the  identification label for this feature.  Many truck traditionalists have expressed ire about shorter beds in favor of more passenger room.  With this Tundra, they get exactly what they want: power and cargo space.
