For the eighth production year of the Tundra, Toyota has revised the full size pickup to create a larger and more aggressive second generation. For 2007, the truck is also available with new engine and transmission options. The new Tundra Double Cab replaces the Access Cab, and is now offered with a full size bed. This version will stretch to 19 feet.
The SR5 badge signifies the addition of a sport-oriented trim, and the Double Cab configuration allows for easier access to he more spacious rear seats. This Tundra is powered by a 4.7 liter V-8, similar to last year's engine. It produces 271 horsepower and 313 pound-feet of torque, and it is teamed with a five speed automatic transmission. A smaller V-6 and new larger V-8 are also available.
With comfortable seating for four and a full eight foot bed, the new Double Cab grows considerably in length, width, and height. At 230 inches long and 80 inches wide, this massive and bold looking new Tundra's weight will swell to over 4000 pounds, and fuel economy is estimated in the mid to high teens. The Double Cab will go on sale in February, and can also be finished with the Limited trim package.
