2007 Toyota Tundra 4X4 SR5 Double Cab 6-Speed Summary

The Tundra Double Cab is the second generation replacement for the previous Access Cab.   This configuration features suicide-style doors, with smaller rear doors closing inside the full size fronts.  The cabin is spacious enough for full size rear seats, verses the jump seats found in the smaller Tacoma extended cab.
This particular version comes equipped with Toyota's new aluminum 5.7 liter V-8.  This engine, which provides the 4000 pound truck with 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, will also be aided by Variable Valve Timing +intelligence technology.  VVT-i, a mainstay on many Lexus models, was developed by TRD to boost horsepower, while lowering emissions and increasing fuel efficiency.  Tundras with VVT-i will now earn an ultra low emissions rating.  The new V-8 is mated to Tundra's first six-speed automatic transmission.  Fuel economy can be expected to average just below 20 mpg in mixed driving.
The SR5 trim package adds a sporty finish to this very powerful truck, and this Tundra may be the pickup that truck loyalists have been waiting for.  Toyota claims that the 5.7 liter-equipped Tundra will tow 10,000 pounds.
