Tundra's previous Access cab is replaced with the Double Cab title, but the idea is the same: two full doors, two small doors. The Double Cab is available with multiple engine and trim combinations, and a long bed model is also offered. The Tundra's interior has received little change for this second generation. The storage space has increased, thanks to a wider center console and a a two-level glove compartment. On the outside, the Tundra has grown in all directions. Length has stretched to almost 230 inches. The width was also increased to 80 inches for a wider stance and more aggressive appearance.
This Double Cab is packaged with the mid-level engine option and the SR5 trim. The power plant is a 4.7 liter V-8, which produces 271 horsepower and 313 pound feet of torque. This V-8 is paired with a five speed automatic transmission, and fuel economy is estimated to average in the high teens. The Double Cab Tundra is also available with a V-6 or a new larger V-8.
The list of standard features is commensurate with the growing price. Safety features like side curtain/front/rear airbags, ABS, and traction control are included with all models. New luxury options like a JBL premium sound system, Bluetooth, and a 10-way power driver's seat are also offered.
