2007 Toyota Tundra 4X4 SR5 Crew Max 6-speed Summary
In 2007, Toyota brings forth their second generation of Tundra, the full size truck that replaced the T100 at the turn of the century. The Toyota Tundra 4x4 SR5 Crew Max model showcases a conglomeration of some of the best available options for this full size pickup. The Crew Max cab offers the most spacious interior available, and the SR5 trim offers a sportier finish. SR5 is a bit of a misnomer for this model. It is shorthand for Sport Rally 5-Speed, but this Tundra will use a six-speed automatic.
Then comes the engine. A new all-aluminum 5.7 liter V-8 has been added for 2007, joining the previously available 4.0 liter V-6 and 4.7 liter V-8. This new engine will generate 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. Toyota will add TRD's Variable Valve Timing +intelligence technology, which boosts power, improves fuel economy, and lowers emissions. According to Toyota, this Tundra will jump off the line to reach 60 mph in just over six seconds, and to turn the quarter mile in about 14. VVT-i will also have the Tundra's fuel efficiency up to an approximate 20 mpg on the highway. The 401 lb/ft of torque will help this truck pull over 10,000 pounds.
Rumors are circling about a supercharged 5.7 liter V-8, which will bring horsepower to 450-almost twice the count of the base level V-6. A long bed version of the Crew Max may also be on the way for late 2007.
