The Chrysler Pacifica receives some minor exterior styling updates for 2006, but more substantial changes would occur for 2007. There are six Pacifica models available for 2006, and the lineup begins with this FWD base model.
The entry level Pacifica is the only model equipped with an older 3.8 liter DOHC V-6, which generates 210 horsepower; 40 short of the new 3.5 liter engine. Like all other models, a four-speed automatic transmission is employed. Highway gas mileage is expected in the low to mid 20s.
Chrysler presents the Pacifica as an upscale SUV, and it is built upon the same platform as the Town & Country minivan. Even the base model is well-appointed for the price. Standard features include keyless entry, a CD audio system, and full power accessories. The base Pacifica offers seating for five, with a second row bench and no third row.
