2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor LS Summary

The base model of Mitsubishi's mid-sized SUV gives its buyers a safe and smooth ride, if not a lot of flash. It's a reasonable choice for those who like the height and need the space but can live without the all-wheel drive.

Standard safety equipment on the LS 2WD consists of front and rear deformation zones, dual-stage front airbags (with passenger-seat occupant sensor), side-curtain airbags with roll sensors for both rows, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, traction control, a tire-pressure monitoring system, the LATCH system for child seats, child-safety locks, and daytime running lights. There are also some anti-theft measures: a coded key, engine immobilizer, and alarm.

To make your ride more pleasant, the LS comes with a 140-watt Mitsubishi audio system that plays CDs and MP3s, air conditioning, cruise control, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support, and power windows, locks, and side mirrors.

The powerplant is a 225-horsepower, 3.8-liter V6 that puts out 255 lb.-ft. of torque. It's not what you'd call a workhorse, but it can pull 2,000 pounds when properly equipped.

The sole transmission is a 4-speed automatic with Mitsubishi's Sportronic feature The adaptive shift technology "learns" your driving style and shifts accordingly; it also allows for clutchless manual gear selection. The 4-speed limits fuel efficiency, although the LS 2WD's 19/28 is still better than what some mid-sized SUVs deliver.

Mitsubishi tends to group its available features, and there are a few available for the LS trims. They are the Tow Package (transmission oil cooler, full-sized spare), the Hitch Receiver Package (tow hitch and wire harness), the Hitch Receiver Package Deluxe (adds cargo tray and rear mudguards to Hitch Receiver Package), and the Appearance Package (cargo tray, rear mudguards, and black side steps).
