2007 Jeep Wrangler 2 Dr X

The most basic Wrangler also has the most basic name: X. And it's all you'll need if you want an everyday vehicle that will love to leave the pavement on the weekend.
Powering the all-new X is a 3.8-liter V6, 202-horsepower motor (the same used in Chrysler's minivan line) that has ousted the previous 190-horsepower V6.
There's also a newly-designed instrument panel, and improved steering (with cross-car linkage), shocks, front and rear suspensions, and two-speed transfer case.
As the lowest-priced Wrangler, it has the fewest standard features, which is not to say it's lacking in any category. It has the features that really count, such as ABS, electronic stability control and roll mitigation, and front air bags. As always, the top and doors are removable (half-doors are also available) and the windshield can be folded down.
Options include removable side-steps, automatic transmission, cruise control, and something new: power windows and locks, with keyless entry. So if you're not too much of  a Jeep purist, you can say goodbye to the ol' hand-cranked windows if you wish.
Although it's not made to the extreme like its big brother Rubicon, the Wrangler X is still tough as nails and undoubtedly Trail Ready, as they say at Jeep. That trademark utility is increased with an all-new frame that's twice as stiff as before, plus a 50% stiffer body. The cargo area is bigger, with a longer swing gate than ever before. An innovative storage area is concealed under the cargo area's liner, and it is out of sight and inaccessible when the swing gate is locked.
The front seats boast a tad more shoulder and hip room, but the backseat is a tight fit, both in getting bodies back there and in keeping them comfortable. The word from Jeep is that it's a five-passenger vehicle, but that middle seat is no throne. Still, the ride is more pleasant than ever now that it's quieter; lots of wind-tunnel research was done to determine how best to reduce noise and improve aerodynamics without compromising the essential Wrangler shape.
Most importantly, the new Wrangler gives safer transportation, with the aforementioned ABS and front air bags (seat-mounted side air bags are optional). The doors have also been bolstered to provide more protection in case of impact, and the body has been reworked with an implemented crush-zone system.
The X can be dressed for success in a variety of convertible tops: the standard soft-top, an optional Sunrider bimini-style folding soft top, and the Freedom Top, a three-piece modular hard top. The tops come in either black or khaki, depending on the body color chosen.
And when you get your X good and muddy, there is no need to fret. Handy drain plugs allow you to hose down the floor from the inside as needed, and a premium, water-repellent seating upholstery is available.
