2007 Mazda RX-8 Sport Summary
The 2007 four-door Mazda RX-8 sport coupe with the Sport trim package was the entry-level model in the RX-8 line. It was equipped with a 232-horsepower, 1.3-liter Renesis rotary engine that provided responsive power and gave off a distinctive rotary hum. A six-speed manual transmission was standard for the RX-8, while a six-speed Sport AT automatic transmission was available as an option (horsepower with the automatic transmission dropped to 212).
The RX-8 Sport was equipped with such features as power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel, a tire pressure monitoring system, remote keyless entry, and front, side, and curtain air bags for the driver and passenger.
Other features included halogen headlights, free-style doors for easy passenger access, a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system with CD player, and an alarm system.
In addition, the car was equipped with anti-lock brakes and Dynamic Stability Control with traction control.
It all made for an agile, well-balanced, comfortable, and stylish four-seater sport coupe. The RX-8 received high praise from both drivers and reviewers, many of whom classified the car as among the best on the road today.
