This S-Type 4.0L upgrades from a V-6 to a V-8 power plant.  The 4.0 liter DOHC V-8 generates 281 horsepower and 287 pound-feet of torque, sending the mid-size sedan from 0 to 60 mph in seven seconds and through the quarter mile in 15.5.  All S-Types are rear wheel drive.

The 4.0 liter variant comes standard with all of the items found on the lower level model, including keyless entry, heated mirrors, automatic headlights, leather seats, abundant wood trim, traction control and an anti-theft system.  Exclusive features on this model are electro-chromatic mirrors, memory both front power seats, a moon roof, a premium audio system and a six-disc truck-mounted CD changer.
