The 4Runner returns without change for 2007. Toyota's popular SUV will once again be offered with a variety of engine, drive train, and trim configurations. The highest level is the Limited trim, well appointed with many desirable convenience and luxury features. This model includes a six disc CD changer, a trip computer, dual climate control, leather, and heated front seats as standard equipment.
The 4Runner has two engine and two drive train options. This version combines the V-6 with four wheel drive. The V-6 displaces four liters, and generates 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The VVT-i system will stretch power and fuel efficiency to the limit, and also lowers emissions. The 4x4 V-6 4Runners have an EPA rating of 17/21mpg. All models have 23 gallon fuel tank.
The properly equipped 4Runner models are quite capable. The advanced 4x4 technology includes a lockable limited-slip center differential, and it is supported off road by a rugged suspension system with front and rear stabilizer bars. Many have found this model to be ideal for road trips. All V-6 4Runners can tow 5000 pounds, and offer 42 cubic feet of cargo space when the third row of seats is removed.
