Toyota's midsize SUV underwent a full redesign in 2006, and little has changed since then.  The addition of the Limited trim creates the most upscale 4Runner, and a myriad of luxury features as standard equipment.  Several of the items optional on other models are included here.  The 4Runner Limited comes with a six disc CD changer, dual climate control, running boards, leather trim, heated front seats, and 18-inch wheels. Options include a DVD-based navigation system, Bluetooth, and a rear seat DVD entertainment system.
While this model retains the lower level 4x2 drive train, it upgrades to the larger engine.  The 4.7 liter V-8 produces 260 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque.  Towing capacity ascends over a ton above the V-6 models, to 7300 pounds.  Gains in power are paid for in fuel economy, which drops to 17/20 mpg.The only transmission is a 5-speed electronically controlled automatic.  
Like all Toyota models, the 4Runner is equipped with a thorough collection of safety features, many of which are unique to Toyota.  The most notable is the Star Safety System.  It includes Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, ABS, Brake Assist, and Electronic Brake-force Distribution.
