2006 Nissan Pathfinder S 4X4 Summary
Part-time 4WD adds a bit more ruggedness to the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder S 4X4, which otherwise is much like its rear-wheel driver sibling. Though lacking low-range gearing and a limited slip differential, the 2006 Pathfinder S 4X4 has an independent and double wishbone suspension, traction and stability control, 4-wheel ABS brakes, 16-inch wheels with all-season tires, dual front airbags, a tire monitor, and electronic brakeforce distribution. This helps win 4 and 5-star crash test ratings from the NHTSA. Side airbags for all three rows are extra.
The 2006 Pathfinder S 4X4 features folding and reclining second and third row seats and a folding passenger seat, for up to 79 cubic feet of space. With seats up, there is 16 cubic feet. A roof rack and trailer hitch add more versatility. Full power features, remote entry, wheel-mounted cruise control, intermittent front and rear wipers, a trip computer, and a CD player are all standard. The rear window opens independently of the liftgate, and the cargo area comes with tie-downs and a cargo net. Good power, lots of room, and easy handling are favorites with owners. The low fuel economy is disappointing, but not surprising.
