Add some tougher road-handling capability and you get the 2006 Nissan Frontier LE King Cab 4WD SB, a part-time 4-wheel drive mid-sized pickup with a 6-foot cargo bed and a small backseat that fits two more people fold-down jump seats.  The rear doors are reverse-hinged for easier access.  The 265-hp, 4.0-liter V6 and 5-speed automatic help the 2006 Frontier LE King Cab 4WD tow up to 6500 pounds.  The cargo bed features a bedliner and tie-downs (a cover and an extension are extra) to carry up to 34 cubic feet.  ABS brakes, dual front airbags, foglights, a tire monitor, 17-inch wheels, and a double wishbone independent front suspension help deliver performance and safety.  Additional safety measures can be added with side impact airbags and traction control.

The L stands for luxury in the 2006 Frontier LE King Cab 4WD, which means you get a trip computer, leather and chrome trim (new this year), a CD player, full power features, cruise control, keyless entry, intermittent wipers, variable power steering, and a tachometer.  A first aid kit, cupholders, a power outlet, and storage compartments offer convenience.  On the LE, you can add a CD changer with wheel-mounted audio controls, a security system, and new satellite radio.  The LE King Cab 4WD also has the option of adding Hill Descent Control (so you don't pump the brakes), Hill Start Assist, and stability control, to handle tougher back roads.  Drivers say the handling is sportier than most pickups, and the V6 engine and 4WD are powerful.  The rear backseat is virtually useless, and many owners would prefer a bigger bed in its place.
