For a Ford, it's not really that bad of a car. It handled really well and I liked it. Of course it was only a rental until my Sunfire got fixed. The p...

2006 Ford Taurus SE Summary

The front-wheel drive 2006 Ford Taurus SE is available only as a sedan this year, powered by a 153-hp, 3.0-liter V6 and 4-speed automatic.  A combination of four-wheel independent suspension, front disc and rear drum brakes, 16-inch wheels with all-season tires, and dual front airbags help win a solid 4-star crash rating, though side impact tests only earn three stars.  Front-side airbags, ABS brakes, and traction control can all be added on for more security.

As the base sedan, the 2006 Taurus SE is still well equipped with power features, cruise control (on the steering wheel), a trip computer, cassette player, intermittent wipers, and security system.  Conveniences such as trunk tie-downs, grocery hooks, cupholders, and a front power outlet are also included.  With seating for up to six (with an optional front bench seat), the interior is spacious, offering nearly 40 inches of rear legroom.  Options include a power driver's seat, leather upholstery, heated mirrors, CD player, sunroof, rear spoiler, and split-folding rear seats to expand the 17 cubic foot trunk.  Comfortable, smooth, and reliable have kept the 2006 Taurus SE popular, but its outdated interior, labored acceleration, and poor resale value are unfortunate detractions.
