The 2001 Chevrolet Astro LS AWD is the all-wheel drive option on the Chevy LS van. Other than the AWD's superior handling in snow or bad conditions and its corresponding heavier weight, larger turning radius, and lesser towing capability than its 2WD equivalent, the AWD is the same vehicle.

Limited slip differential was standard in the Chevy Astro LS AWD (it was an option in prior years).

Chevy Astro LS AWD owners said the van is comfortable and roomy and pleasantly car-like to handle, but many experienced  mechanical problems; brakes often need frequent replacing.
