2007 Honda Ridgeline RTX Summary
The Ridgeline's RTX trim is designed for those who know theyre definitely going to be doing some towing. It is the only Ridgeline that comes standard with a towing package, which includes a wiring harness and trailer hitch.
Powered by a 3.5-liter, 247-horsepower V6, the RTX comes with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Its 4-wheel drive system features Variable Torque Management, which continuously monitors each wheel for slippage and then immediately responds in kind with an adjustment to that wheel's torque.
The locking rear differential increases the trucks off-road capabilities, and the heavy-duty power steering cooler and transmission cooler help make it ready to tow your load (up to 5000 pounds).
One very practical and useful feature on this vehicle is its dual-action tailgate, which can be opened in the traditional way (flipped down) or can swing open from side hinges. This versatility is useful when youre loading heavy items and want to avoid having to reach beyond the downed gate to get to the bed.
Speaking of that bed, not only is it a wide one, but it features a recessed, lockable trunk hidden below the cargo floor. The design of this 8-5-cubic foot area is very clever it can be filled with ice and used as a cooler, thanks to a drain plug at the bottom that can be opened when the party's over. The spare tire is stored in this lockable trunk, just forward of the storage/cooler area.
