2006 Toyota Tundra SR5 4dr Access Cab 4WD Stepside SB Summary

Toyota introduced the Tundra in 2000, as an alternative to the popular domestic full-size trucks from Ford, GMC, and Dodge.  The Tundra was larger that its T100 predecessor, but still smaller than most of the competition.  Power and size problems were fully addressed with 2007 redesign, but Toyota had taken some steps with the addition of a V-8 in 2005.
This model applies the SR5 finish to the Access Cab body.  This cab features two smaller rear doors for easier entry and exit, but it is only available with the short bed.  The SR5 trim level includes a CD audio system, air conditioning, a chrome grille, and color-keyed bumpers.  All power accessories are optional.
The power plant is a 4.7 liter DOHC V-8, which generates 271 horsepower and 313 pound-feet of torque.  Buyers are only offered a five speed automatic transmission with the V-8, routing power to all four wheels on this model.  The Access Cab layout will compromise both payload and towing capacity: 1200 pounds may be carried in the bed, along with 6900 pounds in tow.
