This year's Tacoma is carried over from the fully redesigned 2005 model lineup.  The only significant piece of news is the addition of a tire pressure monitoring system on all models.  Minor minor changes would follow for 2007.
The PreRunner models are designed to meet the needs of many non-traditional truck buyers.  These trucks are finished with an athletic look and fitted with an aggressive suspension system, but they are only available with rear wheel drive.  PreRunner equipment is dependent on what cab size this finish is applied to.  Access Cab models come with a full size spare, CD audio system, air conditioning, and the convenient rear-access doors.
The PreRunner Access Cab is equipped with a 4.0 liter V-6, which produces 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque.  Power is fed to the rear wheels through a six speed manual transmission.  The six speed cannot be had with the Double Cab  version of this PreRunner. Gas mileage is estimated at 16/21 mpg for this model.  Drivers can also haul 6500 pounds and carry 1600 in payload.
