The 2006 Tacoma PreRunner V6 Double Cab is perhaps the ideal truck for those who have no intention to go off road.  This variation is spacious, powerful, and even offers an extended bed for increased payload.
The PreRunner models are all 4x2, but they are equipped with the same durable 4x4 suspension and finished with the rugged presentation of a capable off-roader.  Double Cab Tacomas are the most equipped, with standard features like keyless entry, air conditioning, a CD sound system, and full power accessories.  The Double Cab is the only model eligible for for the JBL audio upgrade.
Tacoma's larger engine is a 4.0 liter V-6, which generates 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque.  The V6-equipped models add over a ton to Tacoma's towing capacity, which jumps from 3500 to 6500 pounds.
