The 2005 Toyota Tacoma has been totally redesigned, now with more configurations, larger engines, and an entirely new platform.  Buyers can choose from thirteen variations this year, as Toyota aims to provide a truck for all possible needs and wants.

This model should please the truck traditionalists, as well as Toyota's other truck focus groups. It combines all of the Tacoma's most desirable features.  The new V-6, the Double Cab body, four-wheel drive and the long bed are all included here.

Tacoma's new V-6 displaces four liters, and provides 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. This engine can be paired with either a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. All V-6 Tacomas can pull 6500 pounds.

The Double Cab models are the most well-equipped, functioning as the Tacoma's top trim level.  Standard features include a CD sound system, air conditioning, a full size spare, keyless entry, and full power accessories.  

Owners have praised this model for its spaciousness.  There is plenty of cabin room, thanks to an interior nearly the size of Camry's, and an extra foot of bed length also ups the payload.
