All 2005 Toyota Highlanders now come standard with keyless entry, a roof rack, and improved storage.  The Limited trim is now equipped with a windshield wiper de-icer.

This upscale Highlander is offered in two variations: FWD or AWD, and both are powered by the V-6.

Exclusive Limited features include heated mirrors,  automatic climate control, an eight speaker JBL sound system with an in-dash CD changer, wood trim, and two small third row seats. A navigation system and leather seating are both optional.  The Limited trims are the only Highlanders eligible for the navigation system.

A 3.3 liter V-6 provides this 3700 pound crossover SUV with substantial power: 215 horsepower 222 pound-feet of torque.  All V-6 Highlanders use a five-speed automatic transmission, and fuel economy is estimated at 19/25 mpg for this front-wheel drive model.

Consumers and reviewers have both listed the Highlander's ride and handling among the SUV's best features.  A common issue was the vehicle's difficult-to-operate controls, especially for the sunroof.
