[Edit] The Camry LE was replaced as the mid-size sedan's entry-level model, when the Standard trim was added in 2005. There were three LE models available, with a V-6 version available for about $2500 extra. There were no significant changes for 2006, but the entire lineup would be fully redesigned for the next model year.
The LE Camrys receive a few additional standard features, including a power driver's seat and keyless entry. Side mirrors now match the car's exterior paint. All Camry models are equipped with a CD audio system, cruise control, and power windows and locks. Options availability increases with the trim level.
The upgraded power plant was a 3.0 liter DOHC Variable Valve Timing-enhanced V-6, which delivered 190 horsepower and 197 pound-feet of torque. Only the five speed automatic transmission is available with the V-6, and fuel economy is estimated at 20/28 mpg. The 3.o liter engine would be replaced by a larger version in 2007.
The Camry is the best-selling mid-size sedan in production. It competes most directly with the Honda Accord and Nissan Altima.
