2006 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition V8 4WD

The 2006 Toyota 4Runner received a mid-generation styling refresh, with most changes focused on the exterior. Projector beam headlights and LED taillights were new, and the grille and bumpers were also revised. New circular fog lamps were added to the bumper. All Sport Edition models added a roof rack and step bars.
The Sport Edition is the middle trim with respect to both price and equipment, but these models are also set apart by a more performance-focused presentation.
The 4Runner Sport Edition is differentiated by a hood scoop, 17-inch wheels, unique seat fabric, and the cross-linked X-REAS suspension system. X-REAS helps limit excess body roll through the tighter turns, creating a less SUV-like handling feel.
This model pairs the more powerful V-8 engine with the 4x4 drive train. Power is delivered to all four wheels through a five speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. The 4.7 liter DOHC V-8, is further enhanced by Toyota's Variable Valve Timing, and the total output 260 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque. Towing capacity with the V-8 is 7300 pounds.
