2005 Subaru Outback 2.5 XT Limited Wagon Summary

Adding leather seats and a large power sunroof to the Outback XT gets you the 2005 Subaru Outback 2.5 XT Limited, a new trim offered this year, featuring a combination of rugged versatility and creature comforts.  The 2.5-liter, 250-hp turbo DOHC H4 is matched to either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed Sport shift auto tran, and the all-wheel drive wagon rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with all season tires.  It gets five-star ratings in all categories and is a great tank in snowy conditions.  4-wheel ABS brakes, an independent suspension, limited slip rear and center differentials, foglights, mirrors with turn signals, and dual front-side and new side curtain airbags are all included in the family wagon.

Aside from the leather seats and sunroof, the 2005 Outback 2.5 XT Limited is a lot like the XT, with full power features, a CD changer, trip computer, intermittent front and rear wipers, heated seats and mirrors, cruise control, leather trim, and a security system.  A front air dam and rear liftgate spoiler adorn the exterior, alongside a standard roof rack to supplement the 66 cubic foot cargo area (tie-downs and a cover are standard).  Options include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, to help reduce nighttime glare, and a trailer hitch.  Drivers praise the high ride height, AWD reliability, tight handling, turbo power, and the huge sunroof.  Rear legroom, premium gas guzzling, and inadequate tires are negatives.
